GoldMoodAstro is a marketplace that connects people looking for astrology, tarot, numerology and spiritual guidance with approved consultants. Users choose a consultant, pick a free slot from the calendar, pay securely and join a live voice session at the booked time, either in the browser or in the mobile app. The website, the iOS/Android app and the admin panel all run on a single API.

Context and requirements

In this field most services still run through social media messages, manually tracked appointments and off-platform payments. The client needed one trustworthy system that records every step, from consultant application and identity verification to booking, payment, the live session and the consultant's payout. Free astrology content and AI-assisted readings, which bring visitors to the site and lead them to consultants, became part of the scope as well.

Solution and scope

Consultant discovery and booking

The consultant directory can be filtered by expertise, language and rating; the home page shows featured, popular, new and currently online consultants in separate sections. Each profile includes a bio, gallery, services, session length and price, user reviews and an availability calendar. Calendar slots are generated automatically and consultants can block out their own time. With “Request a call now”, the consultant has 5 minutes to accept, otherwise the request is cancelled automatically.

Live sessions

Sessions take place on LiveKit in a room dedicated to the booking; access tokens are issued on the server only for the two parties of that booking. Sessions are voice by default and video when the consultant supports it and the feature is enabled in the admin. If the consultant does not start the session within 15 minutes of the booked time, the booking times out and the user is refunded automatically. Post-session reviews and follow-up reminders are handled by the system.

Messaging and audio/video questions

Users and consultants can chat in writing. Users can also send a paid recorded audio or video question; consultants set their own price and response time, and overdue replies are tracked.

Free tools and AI readings

The site offers a birth chart, rising sign calculator, big three, synastry (relationship compatibility), yıldızname, numerology, tarot, coffee cup reading and dream interpretation; for every sign there are daily, love, career, health and meditation readings, monthly transit pages and sign compatibility pairs. Birth charts are calculated with Swiss Ephemeris, while birthplace coordinates and time zones come from a cached geocoding service. Reading texts are generated by language models using prompt templates managed in the admin, and users can revisit past readings in their account.

Payments, credits and subscriptions

Session orders are charged via Stripe Checkout; PayPal appears as a payment method on the Stripe page. Users can buy credit packs and upgrade to monthly or yearly premium plans. Payment status is updated by a signature-verified, idempotent webhook, and refunds are posted to the ledger.

Consultant dashboard

Consultants manage their profile, services, prices, availability and media message settings, and track their bookings, earnings and payout requests. Applications include work experience and a sample reading; identity and billing details are reviewed in a KYC step.

Admin panel

The Next.js admin panel covers the entire platform:

• Consultants: applications, KYC approval, featuring, commission change notices, service categories and templates
• Operations: bookings, availability, orders, subscriptions, credit packs, wallet and consultant payout requests, invoices
• Payments: provider status, Stripe event log, payment settings
• Content: blog, horoscopes, pages, landing pages, home page layout, banners, navigation, email templates, AI prompts and the astrology knowledge base
• Communication and growth: push campaigns, announcements, support tickets, reviews, Telegram and social media posts, SEO quality reports
• Compliance: data protection and account deletion requests, audit logs, user roles

Technical architecture

The back end is a Fastify API running on Bun, with Drizzle ORM and MySQL for data. Shared modules (authentication, bookings, orders, chat, notifications, storage and more) live in a shared package, while project-specific modules (consultants, LiveKit, birth charts, tarot, coffee reading, synastry, yıldızname, credits) are kept separate. The schema is managed through version-controlled seed SQL files, and input is validated with Zod.

Scheduled jobs run the platform in the background: slot generation, booking reminders, automatic session closing, SLA and refund checks, payment reconciliation, consultant earnings, subscription expiry, daily horoscope generation and online alerts for favourite consultants.

The website is server-rendered with Next.js 16 and React 19, with Turkish, English and German routes; active languages are switched on and off in the admin. It ships organisation structured data, a per-language sitemap and light/dark themes. The mobile app is built with Expo (React Native) and Expo Router, and the session token is kept in the device's secure storage.

On the security side there are JWT sessions, role-based admin access, a signature-verified payment webhook and fail-closed checks that refuse to run with missing configuration.

Outcome and today

GoldMoodAstro is live at goldmoodastro.com in three languages, and the flow from consultant application through booking and payment to the live session works end to end. The mobile app uses the same API and is still in development. The free astrology tools are designed as the site's entry point from search and as a path to consultants, and the platform can grow by adding modules for new service types.
